Welcome to Grow Well Appalachia [GWA], a legacy-minded organization dedicated to preserving the lands, community and wildlife of the region. Our goal is to support Johnson County businesses and individuals by identifying resources that meet their specific needs and provide access to available funding. Join us in enriching the lives of our community through our Resources Incubator program.

The values that drive our organization

We are determined to make a difference in the Appalachian community. Our goal is simple: to empower the region to be prepared for tough times and to foster long-term sustainability.

We understand the rich culture and resilience of the Appalachian people, who have learned to thrive despite facing challenges. That's why, instead of waiting for difficult times to come, we want to proactively work towards recession-proofing the region.

One of the core values that drives our organization's activities is our belief in coming together and supporting one another in times of need. We are not just a company, but a community that works together towards a common goal.

At GWA, we also place a strong emphasis on being good stewards to the land and animals in our care, as this is essential for our long term well-being. By fostering a finely tuned community, we can live well, grow, and heal together.

We take a holistic and strategic approach towards creating a sustainable community, as we believe this is the key to overcoming any challenges that may come our way. In a time of chaos, whether nationally or globally, we want to be ready to support and uplift each other.

Our ultimate aim is to make a positive impact and create a resilient community that can withstand any difficult situation. Join us on our journey to make the Appalachian region a place of strength and opportunities for all. Let's make a difference together.

Our team at GWA is made up of a diverse group of professionals who share a passion for advocacy, collaboration, and educating our community. Led by our founder and CEO, Nicole Myers Henderson, ThM & Holistic Health, who is a published author and serial entrepreneur with 35 years of experience. Her mission is to bring together brilliant minds to recession-proof the Appalachia region, which is known for its rich culture and heritage.

Nicole is dedicated to cultivating meaningful relationships and pulling together resources to help bring out the best in everyone, allowing each individual to thrive. She is committed to finding new and innovative solutions to the challenges our world faces, while also promoting peace and excellence in our lives. Welcome to GWA, a place where our mission is to foster a supportive and cooperative environment for the residents of Johnson County Mountain City, TN. We are delighted to introduce our Executive Director Jennifer Behm, who brings a wealth of experience and expertise to our community.

With a background in corporate human resource management, Jennifer has a keen understanding of the importance of connecting individuals to resources. She has devoted her career to helping people thrive and make meaningful connections. But Jennifer's journey does not end there. After years in human resource management, she pursued her passion and became a Licensed Professional Counselor. Through her private practice, she dedicated herself to helping people mend their minds and relationships. Her belief in the resilience of people and the potential for growth and change is what drives her to support our community. Furthermore, we acknowledge her award-winning analysis on epigenetics which has further deepened her understanding of the human mind, making her a natural fit to guide our community towards a better future.

At GWA, we strive to provide comprehensive support to our residents, nurturing not just their physical health but also their mental and emotional well-being. We believe that by working together, we can create a thriving and symbiotic community for years to come. Jennifer and our team are committed to making this vision a reality. So come join us and be a part of this journey towards a healthier future.
